KIROVOHRAD REGION is a place where all conditions and opportunities are created for high-quality education in any branch of study, for scientific and research activity and implementation of its results in production or in other areas of activity with the support of the regional authorities

In Kirovohrad region, 16 higher educational institutions (HEIs) and 17 structural subdivisions of HEIs (in total 33 institutions) offer degrees at various levels, varying from junior specialist's to master's degree, in a great number of specialities.

More than 19 thousand students study in higher educational institutions of the region.

Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University (V.Vynnychenko CUSPU)

It is a reputable educational institution within the system of higher education of Ukraine, which offers degrees in pedagogical and prestigious classical specialities (a total of 30 specialities).

V. Vynnychenko CUSPU collaborates in the field of academic mobility of students and teachers, joint scientific, educational and cultural projects, participation in scientific conferences and in the ERAZMUS+ programme with educational institutions of foreign countries: Turkey, Slovakia, Poland and Belgium.

The representation of the International English Speaking Union (ESU) in Ukraine has been functioning on the basis of the University since 2009.

In 2016, for the firs time in the history of the International Public Speaking Competition (London, UK), a representative of Ukraine - Tsymbalist Anna, who is a student of the Department of Foreign Languages of V. Vynnychenko CUPSU, reached the semi-finals.

In September 2016, an Austrian library of Bernhard Stillfried, which was recognized the sixth largest library in the world in 2016, was opened at the V. Vynnychenko CUPSU. The opening ceremony of the library was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine Mrs. Hermine Poppeller and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Egypt Mr. Georg Stillfried (son of Bernhard Stillfried).


Central Ukrainian National Technical University

The only higher educational institution in the region that offers degrees in agriculture and industry in 20 specialities and serves as a scientific and methodological centre for agricultural engineering, power engineering, ecology, automation, economics and other areas. The University maintains relations with 46 foreign partners from 17 countries of the world (Austria, China, Belarus, Great Britain, Denmark, Jordan, Moldova, Angola, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Canada, Czech Republic, Nigeria, France, Georgia). The representatives of the US Peace Corps are involved in the training process.

Currently, there are 95 international students from 14 countries studying at the university. For the time of its existence, the University has awarded degrees to more than 550 students from 65 countries of the world.

Since March 2015, CNTU has become part of the French-Ukrainian-Czech Educational Consortium (6 universities, including: the National Institute of Agronomy in Dijon (France), the Czech University of Agriculture) and the Ukrainian-French consortium (10 higher educational institutions).


Kirovohrad Flight Academy of the National Aviation University (KFA NAU)

Kirovohrad region proudly boasts of this unique institution in the Ukraine's education system, which is also an important component of the international educational space.

The Academy offers degrees in 10 specialities and special fields. Representatives of more than 30 foreign countries study at all faculties of KFA NAU.

For the period of its existence, more than 110,000 aviation specialists have been trained, including more than 4,000 citizens from 66 countries of the world have received aviation education.

For the high quality of training of aviation specialists for the Republic of Cuba, the educational institution was bestowed with the Solidarity Order of this country, and was awarded a Silver Medal of the "Golden Fortune" International Academic Ranking for significant contribution to the training of highly skilled personnel for the aviation industry of Ukraine.

The aircraft maintenance facility of KLA NAU received a Certificate of an Approved Maintenance Organisation, which certifies its compliance with European requirements (Part 145).

In 2015, the Ukrainian-Norwegian Partnership Club was created on the basis of the Academy. The honorary member of the club is the military attaché of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukraine Hans Petter Middtun.


Medical Department No.2 of Donetsk National Medical University (Kropyvnytskyi)

Started operating in 2016 and offers degrees in General Practice and Dentistry.


Kirovohrad Regional Educational Complex (Gymnasium - Boarding School - School of Art)

Includes 2 gymnasiums-boarding schools of the 2nd-3rd levels (in the regional centre and in the city of Oleksandriia), as well as an out-of-school facility (school of art) and a specialised out-of-school educational institution called "Minor Academy of Sciences for School Youth".

It is worth mentioning that 99% of graduates of the educational complex have entered higher educational institutions.

The main objectives of the school are the search and selection of talented youth (first of all - from the rural areas of Kirovohrad region) and pre-university training of students and subject-oriented education of upper-formers. A highly skilled teaching team is working with students, including doctors and candidates of sciences, Excellent Workers of Education, school counsellors, teachers of the highest and first categories. Equally important in the training of students is the fact that the Educational Complex has a solid physical infrastructure.

The Kirovohrad Educational Complex (Gymnasium - Boarding School - School of Art) is ranked among Ukraine's top 100 schools.


At the initiative of the regional state administration and with the support of the deputies of the Regional Council, the regional scholarships for gifted students and prizez for young scientists were established and paid as part of implementation of the regional social programme "Youth of Kirovohrad Region" for 2016-2020.

Samuil Kruhliak, a student of the Oleksandriia Lyceum of Information Technology, took part in an international competition, the so-called 'Genius Olympics', which took place in Oswego, New York, USA. As a result, he received the bronze award and the opportunity of free study at one of the US universities with an annual compensation of 8750 USD.

He was found eligible for participation in the competition as the Second Degree Diploma Winner of the "Intel-Eco Ukraine-2015" National Competition - the national stage of the Intel ISEF 2015 Competition.
